Experience A Full Deck with Keila Glydon, Steven Perry, Judy Lowe and Jacinta MacDonald with guest Chad Matthews in the Ceilidh on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road.

The event includes a 50/50 draw and complimentary 'lunch' at intermission. The Hall is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible, and licensed. Doors open at 7 PM, show at 8 PM. Tickets are available on our website or at the door for $20, and $5 for children 12 and under. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefiting the society’s benevolent activities.

Judy Lowe

Judy played keyboard for many years in the country band Elliott Wight and his Orchestra, performing every Saturday night at the North River Fire Hall to capacity crowds. She was a member of the Lady Singers of Our Century and is currently a member of the Winsloe United House Band, where she organizes and books entertainers for the bi-weekly Ceilidhs. Judy also plays in the group Four Hearts and A Jack, entertaining at Community Care and Nursing Homes, and performs as part of the duo Judy & Dino for private parties. She currently plays at Peaks Quay from July to September every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Keila Glydon

Keila has been singing since she was 6 years old, performing in high school concerts and variety shows. She started singing background vocals for Sound Ventures Studios in the mid-80s. In the 90s, she sang with artists like Scott Parsons, Kim Albert, and Randy J Martin. She regularly sings in church, at weddings, and funerals. Keila has been part of country groups Final Touch and Ladies of Our Century, as well as gospel groups Gloryland Express and Dino and The Harmonies. Currently, she sings with Four Hearts and A Jack, entertaining at Community Care and Nursing Homes, and with the Rock N Roll group Phase II.

Jacinta MacDonald - Host

Jacinta MacDonald hails from Morell and is known Island-wide for her powerful, clear voice and quick wit that is sure to tickle your funny bone. Jacinta has performed at Country Music Week, was the opening act for Wayne Rostad from On The Road Again, and has won many talent competitions in the Maritimes. A former member of the Lady Singers of the Century, Jacinta is one of the hosts of the Winsloe United Church Ceilidhs, where she performs country classics, Patsy Cline and Rita MacNeil music, and is a member of the group Four Hearts and A Jack, who perform at Community Care and Nursing Homes. Always with a joke or a story, Jacinta draws the crowd in with her powerful performances and sense of humor. Jacinta loves entertaining, whether at ceilidhs, benefits, or nursing homes.

Steven Perry

Steve is a fabulous fiddle player who has played with the likes of Tommy Hunter, Stompin' Tom Connors, Harry Hibbs, and country megastar Shania Twain. He has recorded several fiddle CDs and plans to keep playing music for many years to come. Steven is a member of the Chad Matthews Band, the Winsloe United House Band, Four Hearts and A Jack (a group that performs at Community Care and Nursing Homes), and plays with numerous other groups.

Brian Langille

Brian has been a music educator in the public school system for 23 years. He has also been an active musician for over 30 years, playing with various groups in NS and PEI. He is also a member of the Winsloe United House Band.

Chad Matthews - Special Guest

Chad has been singing and playing music for 35+ years. He is a singer, songwriter, and the only Stompin' Tom tribute act in all of Canada, portraying the Canadian icon Stompin' Tom Connors. He was in a feature film a couple of years ago called "Still the Water," written and directed by PEI's own Susan Rodgers. He appeared on the CBC show "Still Standing" with Johnny Harris, and the National Film Board of Canada did a documentary on his music and life last year, which is up for a Canadian film award. Chad has shared the stage with well-known tenor John McDermott in Toronto and many more. He is pleased to be traveling to Ottawa with his band to play for the 1st ever Epic World Junior Hockey Expo. He has four amazing boys who also love music, and he is shooting his first music video this summer for the song "To The River." He is releasing a brand new single he wrote very soon called "Let's Take A Minute" and hopes to continue his music for years to come. He recently recorded a gospel CD called "Here I Am Lord," which was nominated for two Music PEI Awards.
